In October to November 2000, a rescuing excavation was carried out to explore the Han period tomb to the southwest of Qiaoshang Village in Jiantouji Town of Tai'erzhuang District,Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province. The tomb is a brick and stone structure and consists of a mound, a passage, a front, middle and rear rooms, and side ones. It yielded pottery, bronzes, jades, iron objects, coins, etc. The long narrow side rooms constitute a rare-seen feature. The pictorial stones unearthed are fine in carving and well-knit in composition, and represent mainly auspicious beasts, phoenixes and other birds. The tomb can be assigned to the late Eastern Han period, and its owner must have been a lower-rank official in Fuyang County of that time.
